I was in a serious motorcycle accident that paralyzed my lower left leg. This is the story of what happened that day and the recovery after.
A lot of people find their way to my site by searching for "motorcycle accident pictures". I am sorry to disappoint them, but I have none. I am very curious why people are searching for this kind of thing though. My hunch is that it is folks looking for gory scenes to use for proseltyzing to friends or loved ones about the evil dangers of motorcycling. My site won't be very useful for that purpose, as I still very happily ride even with the paralysis in my leg and I'm not so keen on trying to talk people out of something with anecdotal photographs. If you really want some gore to use as propaganda, you can look at the Bizarre, Bloody Accidents page at another site, but hey, be sure to note the anecdotal evidence that driving a car or walking can turn you into a gooey mess too.
A friend pointed out to me another crash write-up on the web from a fellow who sounds a lot like me in spirit. His account of his bicycle accident that seriously injured his back during a race in the rain resonanted with me on a few points, namely in his easy going attitude about treatment, his view that it was either very lucky or very unlucky depending on how you look at it, and his desire to get back to the activity he loved so much even though it was while doing it that he was injured.
I thought there was another part written within the first six months, but I can't find it.
